I
Cheetah’s heart’s in its feet
Mind in the beady taste buds
A poet in quest for words
II
A stingray joy leaps
Delighting in the sun-drops
The poet finds her prize
III
A drenched kingfisher
Alights on a mango branch
Insomniac poet

I love how you appear to talk about yourself in this poem. Especially when you find the right illustration to fit the words. How apt each verse was.
Really, I love the comparisons you draw here, Sumana! I like how you artfully weave the cheetah, the stingray, the kingfisher, and the poet together! Bravo!
Yes! We are predators for the truths we find nurturing. I’ve never heard it expressed better!
I love the parallel you draw in your verse – always a quest for words, Sumana
Lovely use of parallels in this poem Sumana ❤ Kudos.
Lots of love,

the three verses thread together very nicely through the poet
When the poet finds her prize, that is the best “prey” of all!
Poor insomniac poet – and yet the sleeplessness yielded some magical words 😉
I really like how the poet is part of this quest, and how they reappear at the end of each part. A great idea! Poets are always hunting for words.
Love this, setting the poet against natures back drop of wildlife; especially the last verse.
I LOVE the comparison and connection between the wild things and the poet………………….
You juxtaposed the quest with the search as a writer. Wonderful.
“The poet finds her prize” ~ Love this!
beautiful, can only repeat what others have said. )))
So, the poet rises, for a prey to search- to quench a hunger, and a thirst!! Great piece, Sumana! Loveddd it!<3
Sumana, it’s so magical. I read it over and over again.
A wonderful triplet, Sumana. I so enjoyed these short gems.
Beautifully woven!
