I
A flight of doves
In the blue infinity
My soul
II
Wildflowers in wind sway
In a mood of liberation
By less trodden path
III
Mother bird
In her empty nest knows not
Where the fledgling fled
IV
The poet
Surfing joyfully
On word waves

owOOOOOO! Glory to Independence. Grace to setting free.
That’s the power of flying (in their own right) without any restrictions 🙂
This is such gorgeous writing, Sumana.
Love the image of the poet surfing the word waves. Yes !!!!
As I read your poem, I find myself saying “YES!” to independence. Delightful piece, Sumana!
Such beautiful waves 🙂
III is an interesting take on the other side of independence.
I love that white-winged fellow flying with the rest, but a bit apart … independent. He’s flying just as high!
Oh I love the examples of independence you gave here! And, yes, it is good that the poet, no matter what, can remain independent.
What great examples of independence in your poem Sumana particularly the poet whose words are so important in writing a more telling view/history of the world.
Love this Very beautiful expressions of independence
The wonders of it all.
The first is beautiful. The third made my stomach drop, making me think of losing contact with a young adult child.
So much happiness and so much of free spirit…thank you for this!
poetry indeed gives us wings (even if for a moment.)
Thanks Sumana for the lift.
Hugs
Ride the waves, say your say, come up for air, I love your poem.
