Windows

IMG20170502121627.jpg

They are the windows

of my soul.

I always keep them open

to let in

Fragrant Mother Earth

in all Her caprice.

She dancingly rises

in Her butterfly wings

from the potted blooms below

just to touch my old cheeks.

I keep one or two

thunders or a few raindrops

in my heart as Her gift.

I am often that single palm tree

still growing taller

watching the winks of that emerald eye

lying lazily in all her fluidity and

I never miss to look in

at the mysterious human β€˜me’

inside the tiny apartment

who is birthed everyday anew

beside the ceiling to floor windows

looking out.

  1. What a bright and colorful view you have! This would bring a smile to my face every morning for sure!
I especially love your first six lines……..just a wonderful post to the prompt! Thank you πŸ™‚

  2. I love the view Sumana of : Fragrant Mother Earth

in all Her caprice. I find the “rebirth” theme very meaningful. Thanks for sharing your poem and photo.

  3. Residing in the eternal Now, whether asleep or awake, it is good to stay connected to the earth vibe, nature’s heart; a lovely piece that warms my scars, & curls up the sagging corners of my mouth.

  4. I am so enjoying all of the different views, and yours is spectacular! I love the colours of the buildings in the photograph and the way you zoom in on the
    ‘…single palm tree
    still growing taller
watching the winks of that emerald eye’.

  5. This is so lovely–your closeness to Mother Nature is so healing and your descriptions make your “outside” real to me. Sadly, we have to keep our windows closed right now. Our valley is full of smoke from rampant wild fires in California and here in Northern Nevada.

  6. The tone of these words resonates with me. I especially enjoy ” I keep one or two thunders or a few raindrops in my heart as Her gift.” It thunders here as I write this; I must go out a collect one or two. Your writing is so beautiful!

  7. I never miss to look in

    at the mysterious human β€˜me’

    inside the tiny apartment

    who is birthed everyday anew

beside the ceiling to floor windows

looking out……..loved this!! Beautiful poem…I liked the window view!

  8. I keep one or two thunders or a few raindrops in my heart as Her gift…gorgeous! I like how you keep the windows open and that palm tree! Growing taller and stronger. This is quite a view – it would most definitely make me smile looking out.

Thank You :)
