Kingfisher (Micropoetry #3)

wings beating

just above

a playful water world

the wedged beak makes

a splashless entry

to pick its prize

  1. I haven’t seen a kingfisher fish but I have seen a fish eagle come down and scoop up its prize and it is such a humbling sight. Fabulous scene in your cherita, makes me want to get away into the wild.

  2. You sketched the scene seamlessly and then injected that moment of ‘splashless entry’ into it so perfectly … breaking the water … and shattering the calm … it rather took my breath away. An exquisitely rendered piece, Sumana.

Thank You :)
