sunbeams slither
through dark, deep, enchanted woods
making it darker
cicadas in thousands say
to keep off their elfin grot

Ok now I want to run away to a cicada guarded elfin grotto…stuff of exotic fairy tales!!! Thanks for sharing Sumana!
Ha. The last line made me chuckle.
Sunlight slithers – I like how you inject movement there.
The cicadas. Was in Baltimore for their invasion. They were smacking into skyscrapers, falling on people. Their bodies littering the sidewalks. It was rather surreal.
Their music sounds so magical or something out of science fiction.
A great talisman to keep away the elfin grot!
This is so nice, Sumana. 🙂
I love those slivers of sunlight…….what a beautiful photo!
I’ve never thought of sunlight slithering, it is more often a bold intruder, yet can be rather shy in its approach. I really like the feel of this piece,

Elves, grotto, slithering sunlight. Adventurous imagery all. I enjoyed reading this.
