The candle of
dark little wounds
and light little healings
I breathe you out.
The cierge of the New Year
will flame
new stories from tomorrow on
I look forward to that.

A Celebration

I look up-
to see confetti clouds-
of sunset,
pasted in the sky.
The rows of eucalyptus
jingle in sparrow voice-
ringing vesper bell-
in twilight.
Just as shadowy bats
deluge the crepuscular sky-
I toast the moment with words
for an aftertaste.

Narcissus

I wonder
if in a previous birth
I was a golden daffodil*
cozying in my plant-mother’s bosom,
and fluttering and dancing in joy,
among a host of my siblings and peers.
and didn’t I weave a dream
in him, a poet,
who would sketch me in his words
while he wandered lonely as a cloud.
