Once I seized a night
with all its darkness and stars
its semicircle moon and promises-
I gulped down its love words
in a man’s voice…….in gallons-
till my intoxicated soul
was drowned in a heady dream
of a never ending night-
where my words were songbirds
snuggling together to stay warm
to make it through all life-
Posted for my prompt Carpe-Diem / Seize the day @ Poets United Midweek Motif
Amazing things happen when one dares to seize the night!
I love the words that are songbirds, snuggling together to make it through. Beautiful, Sumana.
Seizing the night, the most amazing thing for me, being a nyctophile… 🙂 Great one, Sumanadi…
Wow! The way you describe it…I’d love to seize this night for myself!
Good one, Sumana.
Beautiful poem and beautiful description of a life-long love. I enjoyed this so much Sumana.
Seizing the night sounds delicious. Beautiful, Sumana!
Love how you seized the night! And the snuggling together..
What a lovely description of seizing a night! Beautiful write.
What a great poem where the words themselves take the reader further into his own mind to picture his own view of the scene. A beautiful poem Sumana.
And may it continue endless as life–in song and in the fullness of now! It’s not all stars and romance, but every bit deepens the love and raises the song.
Beautiful.. I went with “seizing the darkness” too …in a different context though! Love your poem.
Beautiful, Sumana. I love the way you turned the prompt around to
‘ Once I seized a night
with all its darkness and stars
its semicircle moon and promises’.
Sounds like you should do this more than “once”…
Semi circle moon and promises.. I just loved it. Beautifully described.
Such a beautiful (and unique) expression! It also reflects a sense of whole-hearted acceptance. Nice one!
