What if
the humans faded away
into nightmare-
all flora, fauna
and knowledge vanished
into nothingness-
E would
still be equal to
mc2
grand math
would still glitter
in the night sky

Awesome thought! If they are true, scientific discoveries will be discovered again, and math will parse and express them. If anyone cares. If on a planet somewhere, something wants to know more, to go more places. May they be less blind than we.
I love this line of thought, though some dispute it. There is something comforting about the fact that we are just a part of the whole, not necessarily the focus.
Beautifully philosophical
A lovely mind-blowing what if!
Ah, yes. Nature and its fundamentals would be the same even if the society and culture fade away. It can be found again, discovered and embraced.
We already know so little, that too only of the surface of it. Well-penned.

matter existed before “our intelligence” …. so whose to say it will not continue to ignore our follies and go about its business?
this is a pith philosophical poem – and rather refreshing for the reminder, that we are not the “be all end all” of this world, or any other, for that matter.
Yes, it would probably be best, we have proven we can’t be trusted with what is sacred….wonderful (wonder full) poem.
This is profound, my friend.
Wonderfully philosophical write, Sumana! *swooon* ❤️
Thank you for your comment on my poem. Glad you liked my new blog. xoxo
Humanity is so vain that we believe the world revolves around us at our bidding but in fact we really are just only another carnivorous and destructive animal on the planet.
I wonder if accepting the answer to this one, if understanding how little the universe actually needs us would make humanity less of a rot on everything around it. What if, indeed…
yup.. the laws of physics don’t care about us or the mess we’re making… they just are!
Hmm, I guess nature will do good without us!
Yes grand math will glitter in the night sky. I just heard today that there are more stars in the cosmos than grains of sand upon the earth. It has been proven. Wondrous.
This really makes you think. Good one, Sumana.
An excellent What If Sumana.
Yes we would still have the maths.
