How can this mind of mine
so full of worldly delights
taste divine bliss
of thy name?
Neither had I left everything
nor had I followed thou-
how can I taste divine bliss
of thy name?
Let this mind be a lotus leaf
shaking off the last droplet of worldliness
and taste the divine bliss
of thy name.
May this mind of mine
only seek holy company, solitude and thou-
just to taste the divine bliss
of thy name.
O my mind
be restless and be intoxicated
with the divine bliss
of His name.

Neither had I left everything
nor had I followed thou- being in the everyday, the ordinary is a seeking in itself, a finding in itself.
I think that by acknowledging our own faults we can be accepted as suitable to be saved. Well I hope so for my own sake!
You speak for me, too. How wonderful if all that was asked of us was this hardest thing. Thank you!
Put this to music! Let its refrain float out in song.
Lovely prayer, I agree, this would make a beautiful song.
This is beautiful – the soul as lotus leaf, shaking off the last drop of worldliness.

Love this Sumana. One can get answers when one ask questions. Truly a prayer waiting to be answered.

Tasting The Name is the sweetest experience in all the world.
A lovely poem.
Rejecting materialism and embracing spirituality is the connection to the Divine but as you said fighting off the delights when being exposed daily through media and social interactions makes it almost impossible for most, especially younger folk. Prayer…that is what’s needed to change this all around. Thought provoking poem
Lovely.. exalted commonplace..Divine!
Lovely, Sumana. This is a constant struggle for most people. Emptying the mind of worldliness and succumbing to the Lord’s bliss
So beautifully expressed!
