Peace On Earth

I

Nights are longer

Peace keeps coming out

Of the hymns

II

Bluethroat* sings peace

In its winter home

Of our land

III

Curled up

In its mother’s lap

A child calls the moon

*Bluethroat is a migratory bird from thrush family

  1. I believe these three–the singing of people and birds and baby–will bring peace. At least in their presence, I feel peace, and I feel it in the rhythms and silences of this lovely poem.

  2. Yes to fix our hearts to nature and inoncence, surley we will not miss the mark. Luv the way peace journeys in this poem Sumana

    Much💜love
