Kindness is a clay pot
with water
for birds-
kindness is daily living
with healing
words-
kindness is a hand
picking up shards
of a soul-
kindness is kintsugi
treating breakage
with gold-
kindness is existence
that feels like
a breeze-
kindness is you
a true part
of me

Each part of this poem leads me more deeply into the heart. Gorgeous! Thank you.
This is a lovely description of and tribute to kindness. I was hooked when you showed me the common clay pot of kindness at the onset of the poem. This is one of those poems I wish I had written!
A lovely poem on kindness.
healing and moving on… yes in a kind universe that would be a blessing…
This is so lovely…….a blueprint for how to live a kind life. I loved it, Sumana. Hope you enjoy your travels!
Ah, these motifs of kindness, when practiced, can make this world a much better place to live. A lovely verse, Sumana! 🙂
What lovely words and what a wonderful way to repair bowls. Holding their stories together with gold.
There is always such wisdom in your words Sumana. A beautiful poem.
All that is kindness Beautiful poem and love the last lines “kindness is you a true part of me”
All right, I will admit it: this one made me SQUEAL. The way you weaved kindness from line to line, from glimpse to glimpse… and then conclude with the most important part of the process: the energies (souls) that feeds all those little bits of kindness. Yum.
A beautiful ode to kindness.
Such beautiful examples, making a beautiful progression .. and whole.
I love the layers of this poem, Sumana….going deeper and deeper into what it means to be kind. I loved the ending – with kindness being ‘you’ a true part of ‘me.’ To me this says if one closely knows a kind person, that person’s kindness can have a major influence on that person…..goodness begets goodness, kindness begets kindness. Loved this!
A bliss of delightful images and sweet rhymes. Lovely!
