I am often gripped by feral anger-
caught between its teeth-
there is a tragic pile of my feathers
by the side of the sanctuary
called forgiveness-
I have lost the way to it-
when the grip loosens
I am all bruised within-
to one, standing on the lowest rung of the ladder
to forgive is divine-

I like the bird metaphor, Sumana!
Like the image as forgiveness as a sanctuary.
To forgive is divine…if you cannot manage that one…try to forget, meaning don’t let the offence invade your psyche.
I think I can relate to that – more on the move on but don’t forget route!!!
Yes forgiveness is painful and requires more than we have.
Sumana,
So very true, the act of forgiving completely, without harbouroing second thoughts…life sometimes brings a lessening of that situation…:)
Oh, that pile of feathers is the perfect imagery! Well done.
A great insight into what it means to forgive
I’m sure there is divine in our nature–that even the devastating anger has affinity within the stories of the gods. Still, it is a loss of wings! Oh, I see me in here too. Such a potent truth.
Feral anger…makes me wonder what made you so angry. The pile of feathers, the feeling bruised inside. But at the end, forgiving. Yes forgiveness is divine but forgetting is smart.
The pile of feathers beside the sanctuary known as forgiveness is an amazing metaphor, my friend.
Ah that feral pla e is soooo familiar to me. A profound and ponderable write Sumana
Much💞love
Life is unfair sometimes and certainly anger comes when you realize that not everybody gets the same treatment. The secret is to live your life and not let setbacks or criticism hinder you,
the pile of feathers and the bottom rung – loved both.
The image of losing the way to forgiveness resonates with me.

What a visceral image this conjures! I’m greatly impressed by your metaphors and message.
The pile of feathers by the sanctuary is an outstanding image.
