You are either with us or against us is one of the thing I fear the most… Especially the last two lines are chilling… they know we are not stupid, it’s about limiting the choices.
The same in every country, obviously!
Hate it when they twist & squeeze the truth and words to their own ends ~
Lovely new blog Sumana ~ Thanks for joining us and hope all is well ~
Scylla and Charybdis is the perfect description of political choices.
Love the closing.
This is perfect:
Hurl at us the chaff of words
In the midst of political chaos — tis a better description that choice. Your words say much.
Are we talking politicians here? This is very strong writing.
Well said. Distressing, isn’t it? Was it always like this? I don’t think so.
I don’t know if I will survive this election year here. It’s so scary. You nailed it.
Spot on!
oh my, i do feel this. you did such a magnificent job of conveying all you wanted to say into forty-four words – i can see the politicians with their crooked words and hearts knowing that politics is a game their audience has no choice but to play.
Can’t stand politics! It’s terrible.
We are doomed?!!
They don’t take us for fools but treat us as such once they get into office. A fine write!!

It seems no matter which party you support, if their mouths are moving we pretty much can’t count on it being of benefit to us. 😦
Great poem and there is much truth in this piece.
Sumana, this is so good. They definitely DO twist words so easily…without even thinking about it. Sigh.
Politics are just that…it is sad when choices are so limited that one must choose the lesser evil.
